Kool Jah, born Léopold Jean Marc on April 18, 1989, on the beautiful island of Rodrigues, hails from the village of Eau Vanne. A rising star in the world of music, he specializes as a songwriter and performer. His musical journey began in 2006 with the group Gangsta System, which released an album produced by VAF Studio. Kool Jah's presence is also felt on numerous compilations, where he shared the stage with renowned artists such as Ras Poldo and Anabelle Begué. It was through the compilation Étincelle La Vérité that the Rodriguan public first discovered his talent.
In December 2013, Kool Jah released his debut solo album, Resistance, which featured 11 tracks. Known for his deep roots in reggae, he uses his lyrics to encourage collective reflection and social awareness. Despite the many successes he has achieved, Kool Jah remains humble and grounded.
 
His solo career truly gained momentum with the release of Resistance, and his determination has always been his driving force. In 2017, he followed up with his second solo album, Guidance, which included the hit song Guidance, widely praised by fans and critics alike. Kool Jah’s unwavering resolve to pursue his musical dreams has made him a true fighter in the industry.
He continued to release successful singles, including Pas Rancunier, which resonated deeply with his audience, and Plis vrai soldat, a track that critiques the current direction of modern music. Year after year, Kool Jah performs at the many Creole festivals in Rodrigues and Mauritius, further solidifying his presence in the regional music scene.
In 2018, Kool Jah expanded his horizons and ventured into event management. He created his own label, Éducation Musicale, a platform designed to showcase Rodriguan artists. This event soon evolved into an international gathering, attracting top personalities from around the globe, including big names like Elijah from Seychelles, Ewube from Cameroon, and Nesly from France.
Without even realizing it, Kool Jah has transformed Rodrigues into a cultural hotspot for music lovers in the region. The opportunities for the local tourism industry are undeniable, and thousands of fans who have been captivated by Éducation Musicale are expected to flock to this event in the coming years.
 
In March 2024, Kool Jah performed at a special concert in the Seychelles to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Ras Ricky's music career. Representing Rodrigues, Kool Jah won the hearts of the dallons (local people) and further strengthened his reputation as a key figure in the regional music scene.
